Brand Promotion Supports Breast Cancer Research and Gives Opportunity to Win a Year Supply of Biscotti
San Francisco, CA (September 21, 2006) – In support of San Francisco’s 16th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®, Nonni’s Biscotti will join the 5,000 expected racers on Sunday, September 24 on the Embarcadero, cheering on the participants and distributing complementary samples of biscotti to passersby. One lucky person might even win a year supply of the delicious treats.
Celebrate Yourself
Walkers and runners can stop by the Nonni’s booth, grab a free biscotti and are encouraged to take a “biscotti break” the following day at 3:00 p.m. Participants can then enter the UPC code from the back of their biscotti on the Nonnis Web site. Partnering with KGO 810-AM, one lucky participant will be randomly selected to receive a year supply of the authentic Italian treat. The winner will be announced live on Saturday, September 30th at a yet to be determined time.
This year more than one million people nationwide will participate in the Komen 5K races to raise money for breast cancer research and education.
“Breast cancer currently affects one out of every eight American women, and the numbers continue to grow each year,” said Matt Duffy, Marketing Manager for Nonni’s Biscotti. “We believe in giving back to the community and this cause is near and dear to all of our hearts here at Nonnis, which is why we decided to support the participants here in San Francisco and nationally.”
Everyone Wins
Even those who don’t win the year supply of biscotti are winners. For every name and UPC code that is entered on the KGO web site, Nonni’s will donate 50 cents towards the Susan G. Komen Foundation. That’s a 50 cent donation just for picking up a tasty Italian treat during the race!
And, throughout the month of October, anyone can help Nonni’s Biscotti raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Consumers can enter their UPC code after purchasing a box of Nonni’s biscotti and 50 cents will be donated to Susan G. Komen Foundation.
